Which car insurance is required in my state

Every state has different requirements when it comes to car insurance. Many simply require liability insurance (for both personal injury and property damage). Others still do one or two and require supplements such as personal injury protection and coverage for uninsured or uninsured drivers. Visit the table below and find your status to find your state’s requirements.

According to the Institute of Insurance Information, here are the types of insurance that each state requires as of September 2015, as well as the minimum amounts required for liability insurance. The only state that does not require liability insurance is New Hampshire; however, this state still requires you to demonstrate that you have sufficient funds to meet the state requirements in the event of a fault in an accident.
